About this place
Gold Run Trailhead is situated in the spruce-fir country over 10,000 ft in elevation. It serves as access for the Gold Run Trail #618 and Bear Creek Canyon country beyond. It also provides general access to the Highline Loop National Recreation Trail system which include single-track motorized and non-motorized opportunities. A parking area and vault toilet are available. From Mancos, CO: Travel 1/4 mile north on Highway 184, then turn right on West Mancos Road (Forest Road 561). Travel 18.8 miles to the trailhead. West Mancos Road is a chip-seal paved road for 10 miles and then a well-graveled forest road accessible by two-wheel-drive vehicles.
