About this place
Transfer Trailhead (aka Upper Chicken) is situated off West Mancos Road 561 and services the north end of the Chicken Creek #615 Trail and nearby south end of Morrison #610 Trail. Both trails offer single-track motorized opportunities. A parking area is available and it is adjacent to the Transfer Campground complex. From Mancos, CO: Travel 1/4 mile north on Highway 184, then turn right on West Mancos Road (Forest Road 561). Travel 10.5 miles to the trailhead. Most of West Mancos Road is chip-seal paved to the trailhead.
