Stickpin trail #71 is a 1.6 mile trail that ties into kettle Crest 13 from the Stickpin trailhead after gaining 1150' in elevation. This area was burnt over in the 2015 Stickpin fire. A stickpin is a decorative pin for a tie. One may have been found along the trail as it was being built. This area was logged 30 years ago for Mountain Pine Beetle Control. The nearby trailhead Ryan Cabin has several camp sites available with tables and fire pits. From Kettle Falls, follow U.S Highway 395 West to State Route 20. Turn left towards Sherman Pass. Continue on State Route 20 for 22 miles. Turn North on Albian Hill Road 2030and travel 22.1 miles to road 2030-910. Turn Left into the trailhead parking area.
