Whistling Arch Trailhead is located along KY 715 in the Red River Gorge and provides access to Whistling Arch Trail #234. The trail leaves the trailhead parking area and extends along a wooded ridge to Whistling Arch. The trail's main attraction is a huge dry rock shelter with a scenic overlook and buttress-type arch formation. The Red River Gorge Geological Area has over 100 natural arches, the greatest concentration of arches east of the Rocky Mountains.
