Alpine/ Little Cimmaron Trailhead is located in the Little Cimarron Creek Valley 38 miles outside of Montrose, CO. This trailhead offers both non-motorized and motorized recreational opportunities. This trailhead accesses the top of High Mesa, offering unparalleled views of the San Juan Mountains. All-Wheel Drive or Four-Wheel Drive is recommended for trailhead access. A vault restroom is available at the trailhead. From Montrose, CO drive east on State Hwy 50. Turn south onto CR 864. ( Little Cimarron Exit ) Once you cross the FS boundary continue travel approximately 3 miles. Take the spur road on the west side down a slight embankment to the TH.
