About this place
The Ute-Sweetwater Trailhead provides access to the Flat Tops area north of Sweetwater Lake, including both BLM and Forest Service land. From I-70 Exit 133, follow the Colorado River Rd. for 7 miles and turn left onto Sweetwater Creek Road. Stay on Sweetwater Creek Rd. for 11.5 miles, parking at the Sweetwater Lake Recreation Area. The Ute-Sweetwater Trail begins just past the entrance for the Sweetwater Lake Campground, approximately 0.25 mile east from the parking area.
