About this place

This trailhead provides access to the short Surveyor Lake Tr. No. 117. This trail is only 1/2 mile and takes visitors directly to a scenic lake nestled among the peaks of the Great Burn area. Spend the day fishing or floating on the lake, this area provides excellent opportunities for solitude. There is a steep climb from the road at the beginning of the trail, but the rest of the trail is more gentle. From I-90 exit 66, head south on Fish Creek Rd No 343. Stay on Rd No 343 for 16.7 miles. Turn right on Surveyor Cr Rd No 7734 for 8.7 miles. Trailhead is located just before the road re-crosses Surveyor Creek after the last tight switchback. Parking on the left in a large pull-out, trail begins on the right.
