About this place

Pincushion Mountain provides a spectacular view down the mountain to the town of Grand Marais and its harbor and lighthouse. This parking area provides access to year-round hiking and biking trails including the Superior Hiking Trail and Single Track Mountain Biking opportunities. In the winter, this trailhead provides access to the Pincushion Mountain network of cross country ski trails. Picnic tables and hiking trails make this a great stop for lunch on the way up the Gunflint Trail. The Pincushion Mountain Singletrack Mountain Bike Trails begin from this trailhead. From Grand Marais, drive north on County Rd 12 (Gunflint Trail). Trailhead is approximately 1.5 miles north of town on the east side of the road.
