About this place
The Blackwater Trail is located up FS Road 435 close to the Blackwater Fire Memorial located along U.S. 14/16 within the North Fork corridor. The Trail leads six miles up Blackwater Creek to the two sites where the firefighters died, both marked by monuments erected by the Civilian Conservation Corps. From Cody, travel west on U.S. Highway 14/26/20 for 36.8 miles and turn left onto FS Road 435. Proceed about .3 mile, the trailhead will be to the right (The site is about 15.9 miles from the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park)
