About this place

This was formerly a very small family campground that has recently been converted into an "overflow" group camp designed for smaller groups (less than 25) who are not able to reserve the Rock Creek Lake Group site. While not quite as scenic as the Rock Creek Group site, this location is well suited for large family and small organizational group gatherings. A fee is charged. From Mammoth Lakes go south on US 395 for approximately 13 miles. Take the Tom 's Place exit and follow Forest Service Highway 12 (Rock Creek Road) for about six miles the campground is on the right. From Bishop go north on US 395 for about 30 miles. Take the Tom's Place exit and follow Forest Service Highway 12 (Rock Creek Road) for about six miles.
