Onion Valley campground is located at 9,000 ft. elevation surrounded by pine and fir trees. It has 29 campsites and is located next to a stream. Sites up to 25 feet long. Firewood for sale in the campground. Vault toilets and bear food storage lockers available. From Highway 395, in Independence, CA: Turn west on Market Street. Onion Valley is about 15 miles west of Independence, at an elevation of about 9,600 feet. The road is usually open from May to November, depending on snow conditions.
