About this place

Comprised of four separate loops (Pine Knob, White Oak, Post Oak and Scarlet Oak), this campground is beautifully designed with 27 RV sites within the Lake Vesuvius Recreation Area. All campsites are fully accessible with water and electrical hook-ups. Two new flush restrooms with showers and one new vault restroom were installed. There are four hiking trails that connect to different parts of this campground and boat launch. The Rock House, Black Oak, Old Beach, and Scarlet Oak Trails form a 1.5 mile loop with a 200-foot elevation change. A fee is charged. Located 6.5 miles north of Ironton, Ohio, just off State Route 93. Turn on County Road 29 and follow the signs to the Recreation Area (1 mile). Turn at the entrance to the recreation area to the left and go past the lake and the boat dock. The campground is approximately one mile up this road on the right. GPS Lat/Long coordinates for the area are 38 deg 36' 50" / 82 deg 38' 00".
