About this place
Wild Rock Trailhead provides access to the Appalachian Trial and Potts Mountain Trail (#55). A short moderate hike uphill will take you to Wind Rock with sweeping views of Rocky Mountains (3300?), Fork Mountain (3645?) and Peter?s Mountain (4000?). Continue on into Mountain Lake Wilderness. From Blacksburg, VA: Follow US 460 west for 6.5 miles. Turn right on Mountain Lake Road (SR 700). Travel 5.3 miles past Mountain Lake Lodge. Wind Rock Trailhead is on the left.
