Directions, weather, and nearby services help you decide if this stop works tonight.
At the Umpqua Hot Springs Trailhead pay the day use fee before heading on your adventure to the Umpqua "tub." From the trailhead make your way up the steep 0.3-mile trail to the bare rock face that is 150 feet above the North Umpqua Wild and Scenic River. The water at the hot springs typically ranges in temperature from 100 to 115 degrees. Expect high use at this popular site that is only open from sunrise to sunset. In winter, the road to the hot springs typically closes due to weather, increasing the hiking distance to three miles. Additional trail access from the Umpqua Hot Springs Trailhead leads to the North Umpqua Trail. Toketee Lake Campground is nearby if you want to extend your trip under the stars. From Glide, OR, take Highway 138E eastbound toward Diamond Lake for 41 miles. Turn left on NF-34 and continue for 2 miles. Turn right onto NF-3401 and continue for 3 miles until the Umpqua Hot Springs Day Use on the left side of the road. During winter months, a gate will be closed at the 3401 turn for health and safety reasons. Please use caution when walking to the site.
