This trailhead provides access to the Superior Hiking Trail with hiking options that provide access to backcountry hiking campsites at North Carlson Pond and Woodland Caribou Pond. The trail in this area travels through lichen-draped spruce forests on rocky ridges and can include views of Lake Superior and Isle Royale on clear days. At Hwy. 61 milepost 128.9, turn left on Cook Co. Rd. 16 (Arrowhead Trail) and go 3.3 miles to trailhead parking lot on right. Overnight parking okay.
