This trail portal into the West Pioneer Mountains is in Steel Creek Campground, located in a stand of lodgepole pine and Douglas fir, with Steel Creek flowing through the area. The campsite is equipped with ADA-accessible toilets, water, and fishing access. From Wisdom travel north on MT Hwy 43 for 1/4 mile to Steel Creek Road NFSR 90. Turn right and continue for 9 miles along NFSR 90 to Steel Creek Campground and Trailhead.
