About this place
Riley Creek Trailhead is the Eastern starting point for the Fields Peak/McClellan Mountain Trail #216. The western end Fields Peak/McClellan Mountain Trail #216 ends at the Fields Peak Trail. McClellan Mountain is a nonmotorized trail. Fields Peak trail is an ATV trail. Both trails provide great views of the John Day River Valley. Might catch a glimpse of Big Horn Sheep in this area as well. From John Day, OR., take US Highway 395 approximately 15 miles to the junction with County road 63. Follow County road 63 west approximately 6 miles to Forest Road 21. Follow Forest Road 21 approximately 5 miles to the junction with Forest Road 2190. The trailhead is located at the end of Forest Road 2190.
