Brainard Lake Gateway Trailhead is one of four trailheads for the Sourdough Trail and serves as the winter trailhead for Brainard Lake Recreation Area. A fee is charged. From Colorado Highway 72 at Ward, turn west onto the Brainard Lake Road. Travel 2.5 miles to the trailhead.
