The Perseverance Trail is 2.4 miles long. The first 1/2 mile winds gently and is composed of both natural tread and boardwalk. Rain, snow and ice make the wooden boards extremely slippery; take caution when hiking under those conditions. The trail ends at Perseverance Lake, which offers trout fishing and photographic opportunities. The trail also provides access to the Minerva Mountain Trail approximately 2 ¼ miles from the trailhead. To access the trailhead parking area follow the North Tongass Highway to the Revilla Road junction; turn right. Follow to the intersection with Ward Lake Road, turn right and follow past the Ward Lake parking lot. The trail starts approximately 100 feet beyond the entrance to the 3 C's Campground. Parking is available on the Ward Lake side of the road across from the entrance to the campground.
