About this place
Provides access to Observation Trail #132 which enters Trapper Creek Wilderness and links up with several trails such as Observation Peak Trail #132A. A wilderness permit is required to enter Trapper Creek Wilderness. Free self-issued permits are available at the trailhead. Motorized and mechanized uses are not allowed in Wilderness areas. Parking for approximately 8 vehicles. From Carson, drive 8.4 miles north on Wind River Road (County Road 30) to the town of Stabler and the junction with Hemlock Road. Stay on Wind River Road (County Road 30) about 2 more miles and look for Forest Road 64 on your left. Follow Forest Road 64 as it climbs past the Big Hollow Trailhead. Go about 5 miles, then turn left on Forest Road 58 until you reach the trailhead.
