About this place
The Moniger Trailhead provides access to southern portions of the Eagles Nest Wilderness via the Moniger Trail. Be aware that this trail can be difficult to find in many places. From I-70 Exit 176, travel west on the North Frontage Road for 1 mile and turn north onto Red Sandstone Road (NFSR 700). Follow this road for 7.3 miles and turn left to stay on NFSR 700. Follow this road for an additional 8 miles to the trailhead.
