The Mill Trailhead provides access to the Fremont National Recreation Trail #160, a non-motorized, pack and saddle trail, open to hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian use. Many hikers and horseback riders trek out and back or connect to the Crane Mountain National Recreation Trail #161 at the South Fork Crooked Creek Trailhead. Just like its name suggests, there is an old sawmill historic site about one mile from the Mill Trailhead. There is an interpretive sign onsite that details the history. Visitors need to pack plenty of water as there is no potable water onsite. Please practice Leave-no-Trace principals. Mill Trailhead is located 20 minutes north of Lakeview, Oregon. From the Lakeview Interagency Office take US 395N toward Paisley, approx. 12.8 miles to Crooked Creek Rd/FS Road 3900-012. (The sign for turn off of Highway 395 actually says Deter Ranch Rd) Turn right, go approx. 1.7 miles to trailhead.
