The Mill Creek Trail starts out along the shore of Bucks Lake, providing opportunities for swimming, beachcombing, or fishing. The trail is known for its abundance of wildflowers June through August. After the first 5 miles of mostly level, lakeside hiking, the trail turns north and uphill along Mill Creek. The trail enters the Bucks Lake Wilderness several times along its length and ends when it reaches the Pacific Crest Trail. From Quincy, take County Road 411 west towards Bucks Lake. Just past Whitehorse Campground, the trailhead is on the right. There is a large dirt parking area.
