About this place
Lodgepole Trailhead is located along the Chief Joseph Highway and serves as a popular trail winding into the North Absaroka Wilderness and deep into the towering peaks of the Absaroka Mountains. The trailhead contains adequate parking, equestrian amenities, and visitor information. Food storage is required. From Cody, WY take State Highway 120 north for 16 miles. Turn left onto State Highway 296, the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway. Proceed about 38 miles and turn left onto Hurricane Mesa Road, and then slight left onto Lodgepole Creek Road. The Trailhead will be to your left.
