About this place

Provides access to Icicle Creek Trail #1551 within the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. This heavily-used trailhead also provides access to Icicle Creek Trail #1551, French Creek Trail #1595, French Ridge Trail #1564, and Frosty-Wildhorse Trail #1592 within the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Hikers can self-register at the trailhead, and there is a vault toilet on-site. Note: The bridge over French Creek 1.5 miles up Icicle Creek Trail #1551 was damaged in 2021 and not crossable. Access to French Creek Trail #1595, or beyond on Icicle Creek Trail #1551, is by fording the creek, when lower water levels allow. A fee is charged. From Leavenworth, head southwest on US-2 West for 0.8 mile. Then turn left onto Icicle Road/Forest Road 7600 and follow it for about 20 miles. Stay left on Forest Road 7600 after passing Icicle Gorge Trailhead after about 16 miles on Icicle Creek Road.
