About this place
This trailhead, located off Forest Service Road #4140, provides access to the Gates of the Mountains Wilderness. Follow Highway 280 east of Helena approximately 16 miles to the small community of York. Proceed north on the county road about 8 miles to Nelson and the intersection with the Beaver Creek Road #138. Turn left and follow the Beaver Creek Road approximately 1/4 mile to the Hunters Gulch Trailhead.
