The Heaven's Gate Trailhead is located below Heaven's Gate Viewpoint near the Hells Canyon Wilderness. Visitors to the site can enjoy a short hike up to the fire lookout viewpoint on the Heaven's Gate National Recreation Trail, or walk along the northern portion of the Boise Trail (#101) and look down into Hells Canyon. The Boise Trail #101 provides access to Hells Canyon Wilderness via the Old Timer Trail #110 junction north of Heaven's Gate Trailhead. A fee is charged.
