Access to the Green Mt trail 782. This 8.5 mile round trip hike gains about 3,4000 feet in elevation. Climb through old-growth timber before breaking out into large meadows that give the mountain its name. The trail enters the Glacier Peak Wilderness after one mile. After 2.5 miles, descend to a pair of small tarns (lakes) where there are a few campsites and a backcountry toilet. The last mile is very steep with switchbacks up to the historic lookout cabin. From Darrington drive north eight miles on State Highway 530 toward Rockport to the Suiattle River Road 26. Follow this road for 20.2 miles to Forest Service road 2680 on the left (north). Continue on this road for six miles to the trailhead. Parking is very limited at the trailhead.
