Trailhead on National Forest land. From Bridgeport, California, head north on U.S. Highway 395 for 16.1 miles. Turn left onto Little Walker River Road and continue for 4.5 miles. When reaching the Obsidian Campground continue on for another 2.1 miles on the Little Walker River Road to the trailhead.
