Provides access to Eightmile Lake Trail #1552 and Eightmile-Trout Creek Trail #1554 within the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Permits are required for overnight use within the Enchantments Permit Area and day use within the Alpines Lakes Wilderness and Enchantments Permit Area. Overnight use in the Enchantments: a permit through recreation.gov is required from May 15 to October 31. Day use with the Enchantments and general Alpine Lakes Wilderness: Wilderness Permits are free and self-issued at the trailhead. From Leavenworth, follow US-2 West. Turn left onto Icicle Road (becomes Forest Road 7600) and travel about 8.5 miles. Turn left onto Forest Road 7601 and follow it for about 3 miles to the trailhead.
