Duffy Lake Trail connects to the Big Meadows area and to Mt. Jefferson Wilderness. Big Meadows Area: The trail winds through Douglas-Fir, Western Hemlock forest crossing three minor streams and winding up some steeper slopes before reaching the junction with Big Meadows Tie Trail #3434 which connects to the Big Meadows Loop Trail #3456 Mt. Jefferson Wilderness access: Provides access to Turpentine Trail #3490, Turpentine Loop Trail #3455, Lava Lakes Trail #3433, Maxwell Butte Trail #3391, Duffy Prairie Trail #3454, Santiam Lake Trail #3491, Dixie Lakes Trail #3494, Blue Lake Trail #3422, and Bowerman Lake Trail #3492. See trail pages for more information. A fee is charged. From Detroit, Oregon, travel 25.6 miles east on State Highway 22 to Big Meadows Road (Forest Service Road 2267). Turn left on Big Meadows Road (Forest Service Road 2267). In 0.9 miles you will reach the junction with Forest Service Road 2257 on the left. Bear right to continue another 2 miles on Forest Service Road 2267 (past the junction with Forest Service Road 2257) to the trailhead.
