This recently relocated trailhead provides the shortest ? but steepest ? route to the district's highest point, Ch-Paa-Qn Peak. The Ch-Paa-Qn Peak Tr. No. 707 reaches the junction with Tr. No. 98.3 below the peak in 3 miles, but climbs over 2000 ft over that distance, plus almost 1000 feet more on the scramble to the summit. The upper 3 miles of Rd. No. 2178 were decommissioned in 2024, necessitating the relocation of this trailhead to its current location and the construction of about 3/4 of a mile of new trail. The new location greatly improves public access, although vehicles with low clearance are still not recommended on Rd. No. 2178. The trailhead features a large parking area and a hitching rail.
