The Battlement Trailhead provides access to the Battlement Jeep Trail (Forest Road 847) and the Lava Creek Trail (#2160.5). Both trails are open to foot and horse use, and the Jeep Trail is also open to bicycles and motorized vehicles. Both trails lead to the scenic Battlement Reservoirs; the Jeep Trail also connects to the Battlement Trail (#2160), which in turn provides access to the Mamm Peaks area.The trailhead parking area has room for approximately a dozen vehicles. The road to the trailhead has several rough patches that are challenging for low-clearance vehicles.The trailhead is located on private property. Please respect nearby landowners by staying on the trails and refraining from littering.
