Day hiking leads to Cottonwood and Sherman Trails, the 1183 Freeman trail, 1144 Bears Ears and the Black Mountain Trail systems. Directions from Craig, CO. TravelNorth on Highway 13 for 12 miles, then east on Moffat County Road 11 (Freeman Reservoir Access). Continue on the graveled road for 8 1/2 miles to the recreation area.
