This primitive trailhead (pronounced "al-bear") accesses the east side of the Petty Mountain roadless area via the Albert Cr. Tr. No. 719. The full 6 mile trail connects to the Wild Horse Point Tr. No. 720, with junctions along the way with Albert Point Tr. No. 732 and Petty Mountain Tr. No. 8 (via Tr. No. 731). This network provides several opportunities for overnight use, loops, or point-to-point hikes. All trails in the area are closed to motor vehicles (except Tr. No. 720, see Motor Vehicle Use Map). From Missoula, take Mullan Road west and turn left at Kona Ranch Road. Follow the road as name changes to Big Flat Road then Southside Road. 6 miles from the end of the pavement, bear left on Albert Cr. Rd. No. 5568. Road dead-ends at trailhead 6 miles ahead.
