About this place

The Tudor Arms Hotel Cleveland - a DoubleTree by Hilton, built in 1929 and a member of Historic Hotels of America® since 2014 was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. Historic Hotels of America is the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation® for recognizing and celebrating the finest historic hotels across America. The Tudor Arms Hotel is in the heart of Cleveland's University Circle and cultural neighborhood. Designed in 1929 by the famous architect, Frank Meade, and completed in 1933 as the exclusive Cleveland Club, the building was converted into the Tudor Arms Hotel in 1939. Jazz musicians like Lawrence Welk and Patrice Wymore performed in the grand ballroom, the Empress Room, making it a popular entertainment venue of the time. In 2011, the Tudor Arms Hotel was restored to its former glory through a partnership between MRN Ltd and Hilton. It sits vibrant and proud as a beacon to all who visit University Circle, preserving the past and celebrating the future of the city .
