About this place

The Sheridan Inn, built in 1893 and a member of Historic Hotels of America® since 2015 was designated a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior in 1964. Historic Hotels of America is the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation® for recognizing and celebrating the finest historic hotels across America. The Sheridan Inn was built in 1893, and put into service in 1894. At the time the Sheridan Inn was constructed, the railroad ended in this small Wyoming town, and made the hotel into a well known landmark. Among the famed visitors was Buffalo Bill Cody, who was actually the first business operator who managed the Inn for 8 years. The artwork in the recently restored rooms were actually produced by the Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum in Cody, Wyoming.
