The Hotel Boulderado, built in 1909 and a member of Historic Hotels of America® since 1996, was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.Historic Hotels of America is the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation® for recognizing and celebrating the finest historic hotels across America.A combination of the words "Boulder" and "Colorado," the Hotel Boulderado was so titled to forever remind guests where they had stayed. Boulder's first luxury hotel, the Boulderado opened to admiring crowds on New Year's Day 1909, and it was described in the daily paper as the "pride of the city."
