About this place

This primitive camping area contains 70 designated camping sites each marked with a 6" round post. Expansive scenic views of prairie and badlands attract many seasonal campers to this popular area. Camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Campfires are only allowed in contained fire pans. The unimproved road is rough with gravel, washboard, and small rocks on a natural roadway. Wet conditions make the area extremely muddy and slippery. There are no amenities available. Please recreate responsibly. From Wall, SD take Highway 240 for 6 miles south towards the entrance to Badlands National Park. Forest Road 7158 is on the east side of Highway 240 and is the north entrance to the Pinnacles Camping Area. Approximately 1.7 miles south is Forest Road 7170, the south entrance to the Pinnacles Camping Area.
