About this place
Snag Lake Campground is located five miles north of Bassetts on the Gold Lake Road adjacent to Snag Lake. There are 12 undesignated campsites with space for small trailer use- vault toilets and lake water source, purify before drinking. This area offers an abundance of beautiful high mountain lakes with a variety of accessibility along with scenic rugged geological features of granitic ridges and glacially serrated rock outcroppings. A fee is charged. From Hwy 49 at Sierra City: Drive 4 1/2 miles to Bassett's Station. Turn left on Gold Lake Hwy. Continue for 5 miles to Snag Lake Campground. From 89 N to 49 N: Drive 13 miles west to Bassett's Station. Turn right on Gold Lake Hwy. Continue for 5 miles to Snag Lake Campground.
